Travel Tips: Do's and Don't at the Airport

If you are planning on traveling, chances are if it's for pleasure you will want to bring back film filled with wonderful pictures you've taken of the local cultures and customs of the place you've visited. However it is important to note the following with undeveloped film.

The screening machine at the airport security station will most likely corrupt any undeveloped film you have in your luggage. The way you want to go around this is by placing all these undeveloped films in your personal carry-on luggage. For this you can request that the security apply a manual inspection to avoid damaging your equipment.

Do consider putting your important items in carry-on luggage. Make sure that you tag everything with your name as well as address so nothing gets lost along the way in case there is a mix-up. Be sure to check beforehand to make sure you are familiar with policies at your local airport with regards to what you can and cannot carry and in what quantities if you are unsure.

For instance, in many cases, you may be limited to only using only one carry-on bag and also one personal item. Again check with your local airport representative to find out what constitutes a personal item, etc.

When in doubt always ask a representative what is acceptable and what isn't based on their policies. Doing this before going to the airport will save you a lot of time and potential frustration- especially if you are planning to travel at peak times.
