Prague is a central European city, which is better known as the capital of the Czech Republic. Its geographical position is 5005"N and 1427"E. The total area is 496 square km and the city is home to more than 1,21 million people. An interesting revelation about the city is the large number of illegal and non-registered residents who live in harmony with the native Czechs. Locals speak in Czech and numerous other European languages. The accepted currency is the Czech crown and it is internationally recognized as the "CZK." Prague boasts of mild and pleasant climate throughout the year. When in Prague, people may travel within the city via trams, bus, cars, metro and a network of taxies. The city is an historical haven and is also known as the city of a hundred spires. Legend has it that a princess and her husband founded Prague. Historians suggest that Prague was founded in the ninth century. Architectural remains of the twelfth century are well maintained and on public display. At present the city boasts of a highly explicit and architectural Jewish quarter. Tourists may visit the lesser town, old town or new town. There are a number of famous theatres and castles. It is important to make hotel reservations well in advance. This prevents inconvenience on arrival and travelers need to carry proper documentation and adhere to visa and travel permits. When making reservations, tourists should make enquires regarding English speaking hotel staff. Of late, Prague has witnessed a continuous influx of tourists after the UNESCO declared it a world heritage site. The city flaunts a number of attractions and activities that tourists can make the most of, making the vacation enjoyable and memorable.
