CAD Schools A Good Choice for Those Who Love to Draw

If you love to draw, a college degree in Computer Aided Drafting or Computer Aided Design (CAD) can qualify you for a career in design, architecture, engineering, manufacturing, and many other exciting fields.

Many colleges and technical schools offer CAD classes, certificates, and degrees. Community colleges and vocational, trade, and technical schools may offer studies for CAD certificates and associate degrees, while students in four-year college and university CAD School settings can work toward bachelor degrees, and sometimes master degrees. Some institutions offer doctorate degrees in computer aided design and computer aided drafting.

Computer-aided design and drafting uses a range of computerized tools. CAD School programs generally begin with courses in theory, mathematics, rough sketching, and general uses of CAD software, then progress into specialized techniques for creating detailed representations for use in architectural, design, and product development.

Businesses dealing with architecture, engineering, architectural landscape design, product design, and even jewelry making, are constantly seeking accomplished CAD artisans. Depending on the particular concentration, graduates of CAD Schools can apply for positions as CAD operators, CAD technicians, conceptual artists, architectural drafters, landscape architect, and as graphic and engineering designers.
